As a Team Member, we ask for your sincere commitment to prepare yourself in all ways spiritually, emotionally and financially for the team you serve with and the work you will do to serve the children on the mission field. We ask you to pledge out of your love and commitment to God the Father, submission to His Son, Jesus Christ, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. SPIRITUAL I commit to secure mature prayer partners as I begin this journey. I will ensure that I have prayer cover for myself as I prepare and serve on the mission field. I commit to seek and submit to the Lord as he reveals sin in my life, so that my heart may be ready to receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit on this journey. My purpose is to reflect his glory to the people and children he has chosen me to uniquely minister to. I will be in prayer for the spiritual needs of the specific children that God leads me to on this trip. EMOTIONAL I commit to seek emotional support from church members, friends and family who challenge me to have a Christ-like spirit in all that I say and do. I commit to accountability, even when it is tough to hear, when I am confronted with a truth about my life or witness. I commit to be honest in sharing my challenges with someone trustworthy who can minister to me as I prepare for and return from this journey. FINANCIAL I promise to commit to the Lord the praise for my fundraising efforts. I commit to my responsibility to raise sufficient funds for myself and my team’s needs. I commit to humbly and sincerely tell my story so that the children I worked with could continue to receive love and care from my congregation, family and friends. ADMINISTRATIVE I promise to complete all administrative requirements (such as authorization forms, background checks, references, visa applications, etc.) in a timely fashion, according to the deadlines in the Team Handbook. I further submit that I already have a valid US Passport in hand (which will not expire by January 2011), or will apply for a US Passport immediately.
