Did you know January is National Mentoring Month? Well, you do now!
So, what do you do with this information? May I suggest 3 simple things.
First, I encourage you to check www.nationalmentoringmonth.org to see what initiatives are happening in your area. Mentoring opportunities are all around us if our eyes are open.
Second, if you know a YouthReach International Mentor personally, through Facebook, through our Orphan Sponsorship Program, or through one of our staff members, write a quick note of thanks and send it their way. They do what they do for the most noble of reasons. Encourage them in that.
Third, pray for YouthReach International as we are thinking about what kind of impact we can have here in our local communities in the U.S. while our focus remains firmly in Eastern Europe. Pray that we will know how to both mobilize our alumni here in the States for local mentoring efforts as well as share our ministry model and principles with churches, schools, universities, donors, and partners of all kinds.
I've heard it said that many are the people who have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could. Whether that happens around the world or around the block let us all be committed to seeing that happen.
Will you please do one, two, or three of the things mentioned above today? I thank you in advance.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for your partnership with our ministry,
Rob Browne
Executive Director
