YouthReach International provides positive adult relationships for orphans and at-risk children through Mentoring opportunities with local Ukrainian and Russian 12-3-1 Mentors. Often the initial introductions between the children and 12-3-1 Mentors are through regular visits to orphanages, friends, and organized youth gatherings in their local city, but can also occur through youth camps.
YouthReach International creates small Christian mentoring communities in Russia and Ukraine, allowing the children to observe, receive, and participate in the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Within these communities, orphan and at-risk children grow spiritually, develop friendships with positive role models, and learn practical skills for success in life.
Through orphanage outreaches and camps, we partner short-term missionaries with Ukrainian/Russian 12-3-1 Mentors, who act as translators, co-teachers, cultural guides, and mentors to the children. While the foreigners might be the initial draw, they slowly step back and encourage the children to bridge to a friendship with their in-country 12-3-1 Mentor. These 12-3-1 Mentors then continue the learning and relationship throughout the rest of the year, discipling and guiding the children socially and spiritually.
We also build deep relationships with the ministry partners, orphanage directors, and 12-3-1 Mentors to allow a continuing opportunity for further ministry to these children and their friends.
